Curious about the creatures of the night? Join Six Rivers in partnership with Oakland Township Parks for a guided bat hike at Cranberry Lake Preserve!

As dusk settles in, we’ll use echometers to listen for and identify bats as they soar through the night sky. Along the way, you’ll learn about the bat species that call the preserve home—and if we’re lucky, we may spot a few other nocturnal visitors too. Owls are frequent guests!

If you’d like to use an echometer during the hike, please download the Echo Meter Touch Bat Detector app by Wildlife Acoustics, Inc. ahead of time, as internet service in the area can be limited.

Be sure to dress for the weather, and we recommend wearing long sleeves and pants to help protect against bugs.
