Six Rivers Land Conservancy’s oldest preserve, Voorheis Lake Wetland Preserve was acquired by the organization in 1995. A ten-acre marsh and adjoining woodland on the edge of Voorheis Lake in Orion Township, Oakland County, this preserve has largely been unchanged since its acquisition. Occasional phragmites treatments have maintained the ecological integrity of the preserve. Although too wet to cross on foot, the preserve can be viewed from Galaxy Way, Orion Township.
